Teenage boy stabs junior high school teacher
CHIRYU, Aichi -- An 18-year-old boy who stabbed a teacher at a junior high school that he graduated from was arrested on Tuesday, police said.
Local police accuse the 18-year-old part-time worker from Chiryu of attempted murder after the boy stabbed Yoshihisa Kamiya, 34, at Chiryu Municipal Junior High School on Tuesday afternoon.
Kamiya, a teacher at the junior high school, was stabbed in the chest, back and left arm, police said.
Police received an emergency call reporting that a school employee was stabbed by a suspicious person at the school at around 1:38 p.m. on Tuesday. Police officers rushed to the school and arrested the boy on the spot.
The boy allegedly stabbed Kamiya in a room at the school with a knife at around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Aichi Prefectural Police investigators are questioning the boy over his motives behind the stabbing, while investigating the situation at the time of the crime.
